PCB refers to a blank board, which is the circuit board itself without any components installed. PCBA is the board with components soldered onto it. After the PCB design files (usually in Gerber format) are completed, they are sent to the PCB manufacturer for fabrication of the bare board. The entire process includes: data processing → inner layer → lamination → drilling → hole metallization → outer layer → solder mask → surface finish → forming and testing. Once the bare PCB is received, it is sent together with the components to the assembly plant to complete the PCBA manufacturing.
